Temple is a London Underground station in the City of Westminster, on the Victoria Embankment. It is the nearest tube station for King's College London and the London School of Economics. It is on the Circle and District lines between Embankment and Blackfriars and is in Travelcard Zone 1. The name comes from the Knights Templar, via Inner Temple and Middle Temple, which are situated nearby. 'Temple' is the only name to be shared by a station of the Paris Métro and a station of the London Underground.

Festival Hall

Somerset House

London's newest museum of decorative arts, the Gilbert Collection, is in the restored South Building of Somerset House. The very unique collection of decorative silver, gold boxes and micro-mosaics, was donated to the British nation in 1996 by Sir Arthur Gilbert, the London-born evening gown maker and real estate millionaire. Highlights of the pieces include a lavish 'howdah' , seat for riding on an elephant, in the 'Indian Palace furniture' section and a pair of 18th century silver and iron church gates, commissioned by Catherine the Great.

Temple

A small enclavewithin the city of London, Temple was owned by the Knights Templar for nearly 200 years. On either side of Temple stretches a labyrinth of little streets, courtyards and gardens and for all Shakespeare buffs out there, Twelfth Night was premiered here in 1600!
