Metropolitan Line
The Metropolitan Line on the London Tube Map runs from Aldgate to Chesham (with several branches) and is represented on the tube map by a dark magenta line. The line and various branches add up to 41 miles of track, responsible for handline 58,000 journeys every year. The first underground railway in the world, the Metropolitan Line opened in January 1863 and is the 9th busiest line on the London Underground. The main line runs from Amersham to Aldgate and there are branches to Uxbridge, Chesham and Watford.
